Former NFL Great expands his Golf Management Company to West Deptford
Ron Jaworski Management announced that they are now operating RiverWinds Golf & Tennis Club. RiverWinds Golf Course was nominated for Golf Digest’s Best New Public Course for 2003, and the 2006 Reader’s Choice Awards for Best North East New Course. RiverWinds will remain open for public golf and tennis play, and will continue offer memberships.
Ron Jaworski’s RiverWinds Golf & Tennis Club features an 18-hole championship golf course layout that stretches to over 7,100 yards from the tournament tees with a par 72. The course was expertly designed by Pete Fazio, a member of the world famous Fazio golf family. There are five holes that play along the Delaware River with the signature hole #17 playing 156 yards to an island green situated in the river. Link-Style layout, high fesque, forgiving fairways, and skyline views of Philadelphia are only a few things that set RiverWinds Golf Club apart from the others.
The Tennis Center offers private lessons, match play, round robins, group clinics for all ages and skill levels, USTA Leagues, Women’s Introductory Club and USTA Sectional Tournaments. The center offers memberships and daily court rentals. In addition to the Fall and Winter Programs RiverWinds offers a Full Summer Program for juniors and seniors and continues to offer Summer Programs for all skill levels. Tennis memberships are available. The clubhouse, which accommodates the Tennis Club, is 28,000 square feet, and features a fully-stocked pro shop, five tennis courts and men’s and ladies locker rooms.
West Deptford Township under direction of Mayor Anna Docimo and the Township Committee has been an integral part of the ongoing success of RiverWinds and Ron Jaworski Management plans to continue to work closely with the West Deptford Community.
Bob Ewing will serve as the General Manager of RiverWinds Golf & Tennis Club. Ewing serves as Vice President of Ron Jaworski Management and is a past member of the PGA of America. John Drab, Director of Golf, was recently added to the RiverWinds team. Drab worked for Golf Tec for 2 years as a Golfing Instructor. Drab is a Master Club fitter and has been in the golf industry since 1995. Dave Santana, voted one of the best Superintendents in New Jersey by New Jersey GolfStyles Magazine in 2008 will serve as the Superintendent. Santana is a member of Golf Course Superintendent Association of America, a 9 year certified Superintendant and regional Director of Ron Jaworski Management. Gina Pileggi, USTA, will remain the Director of Tennis. Pileggi has been the Director of Tennis at RiverWinds since it opened in January 2002. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the United States Tennis Association/Middle States Section as Vice President of Junior Programs. Pileggi was inducted into the South Jersey Tennis Hall of fame and is USPTR Certified Professional. Nancy Wilkins, will remain the Head Tennis Professional, a position she has held since RiverWinds first opened. She currently serves as Director of Tennis for New Jersey Special Olympics. Wilkins also inducted into South Jersey Sports Hall of Fame, was named 2006 USTA Middle States/New Jersey District Pro of the Year and a Certified USPTR Professional, and Member of U.S. Racquet Stringers Association.

The former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback turned Monday Night Football color commentator will make RiverWinds the fifth in his stable of golf courses. RiverWinds joins the family of courses that already includes Valleybrook Country Club in Blackwood, NJ, Running Deer Golf Club, NJ, Honey Run Golf Club in York, PA, and Edgewood in The Pines in Drums, PA.
